When setting up your new MotorTrend account, you need to enter a password that must be at least 8 characters long, have at least one digit, one UPPERCASE character, and one lowercase character. You also cannot use a common password.
Forgot your password or need to set an initial password? It happens to us all. Use our password reset screen to start the process. This is also available on our mobile apps. You do not need to enter your old password to reset your password. If you do not receive an email right away, please be sure to check your SPAM folder or search for an email from firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
The email we send will contain a link to confirm your request to reset your password. If the link is not clickable, then please copy the entire line (starting with "https://" and including the characters after the "code=") into a new browser window.
Follow the on-screen prompts to change your password. To pick a password that is strong, you can use an auto-password generator built into your web browser or may be part of security software already installed. If you don’t have one and need to pick a strong password, try a combination of words you can remember like: your favorite color + favorite food + a date.
As a part of checking your password, it will be checked to make sure it is secure and is not a common password. When you do change your password, make sure to update any saved passwords in your web browsers and the password on any apps.
If you have login or password issues when using social sign in, please contact the provider who set up your account. The login and password you use for social sign in are different from those you use for MotorTrend+. Our website does allow you to set a password for your account if you used social sign in.
